Who We Are

HOPE CARE SPECIAL SCHOOL

Sri Lanka is witnessing a huge increase in children with special needs. According to the Central Bank report 2016, there were about 1.7 million people with disabilities, which is 8.7% of the total population. Parents and these children with special needs struggle a lot with difficulties at present due to lack of proper programs and methods for the development of children with special needs in Sri Lanka.

The need for specialized schools with therapeutic facilities and special education is a dire need in our society. As of this need, the Hope Care – Development Center for children with special needs was established on 18th December 2022 at Devala Road, Depanama, Pannipitiya as a non-profit center providing special educational and therapeutic services to special needs children from 02 years to 16 years.

REGISTRATION

Registered in September 2022 as a non-profit organization under the Companies Act No. 7 of 2007, and the company is limited by guarantee.

Our Approach

Objective and reasons to conductive the school

Most parents of children with special needs in Sri Lanka face financial difficulties and are unable to afford the costs of therapeutic treatments and special education. These parents also find it hard to maintain employment, as they must dedicate their entire day to caring for their children. The Hope Care Center plays a crucial role for both parents and the community by providing all its services free of charge and supporting the care of these children during school hours.

Managing the daily activities of children with special needs is essential for their development. At Hope Care Special School, both therapeutic treatments and systematic special education are integrated to meet these needs. This combined approach maximizes the potential of these children, promoting their overall development.

The main objective of the school is to help children with special needs learn to manage their lives independently in society.
